Generally reported as a title defense by Brown; sanctioning body unknown.
On October 7, President Edward Foster announced that, following a telegraphic conference among its members, the National Boxing Association was proclaiming Brown the World Bantamweight Champion. The New York Times, Oct. 8, p. 24. Brown went back home to Panama in November to an exhuberant "hero's welcome."
