referee: Ben Maculan
Evans gave a very good account of himself in the first two rounds. Marciano won the first round but Jimmy out-boxed Rocky in the second. In the third Marciano's attack overwhelmed Evans, who was helpless on the ropes when the referee stopped it. It was a very good, if short, fight. Attendance was 2,775 and the gross gate was $4,876.
