Abe Denner was ranked by The Ring magazine as the #3 featherweight in the world in 1942 after knocking out Lefty LaChance in 1942.

Denner was extremely tall for his weight, and had a very long reach. His manager listed his height incorrectly as 5'8" in an attempt to not scare off potential opponents.

Denner was the New England Featherweight champion: 1938-1939 and 1940-1942.
