Bout Summary

The fight was competitive as Kickett landed some decent shots that slipped through the guard of Broner, who primarily looked to counter but struggled with accuracy early on. Broner was warned at the beginning of Round 5 for hitting Kickett on the break. Kickett momentarily switched to a southpaw stance during the second minute of the round. A counter left hook to the jaw caught Kickett coming forward and put him down at 2:57 of Round 5. He made it to his feet at the count of seven. A more confident Broner landed a pair of left hooks in the opening minute of Round 6 that stung Kickett. A left uppercut at 2:58 of Round 6 bloodied the nose of Kickett and put him down for the second time in the fight. Kickett, who was seated and against the ropes, did not attempt to get to his feet.
