Summary

Khan faced Irishman Oisin Fagan in his return fight after losing by knockout to Breidis Prescott.

Fagan who is known for his toughness and iron-chin, opened the fight with some nice overhand rights and Khan then began to show his class with excellent movement and hand speed.

Khan then put Fagan to the floor midway through the first round. Fagan suffered a broken ankle when it fell awkwardly from this knock down. Fagan fought on but the off balance fighter was again floored in the closing seconds of the round.[1]

The second round began with Khan again applying pressure and the fight was stopped after one minute and 37 seconds of the second round when Fagan's corner threw in the towel.

Fagan later stated "first of all I don't want to take anything away from Amir Khan - he's an exceptional fighter and a lovely kid and looked very sharp in there, but truth be known, that when I went down the first time, in the first round, I broke my ankle". [2]
