The two continued to throw wildly for the remainder of the round. Saulsberry took a knee following a left hand to the body, which apparently was ruled to be low by the referee. By the end of Round 1, Saulsberry was already very winded. Saulsberry went down to all fours at 57 seconds into Round 2 from a jab and a left hand that may have glanced off the top of his head. Despite the lack of a clear knockout punch, Saulsberry remained on all fours and did not attempt to get to his feet. Szpilka, upset that he did not get up, attempted to approach Saulsberry following the knockout ruling before being pulled away by his trainer.
