Billy Jordan ("Let 'er Go, Billy"--based upon his catch-phrase: "Let 'er go!" )), of San Francisco, was a famous ring announcer and sportswriter of the very early 1900s. He had been born in Boston, was a American Civil War veteran/sailor, amassed a fortune in Japan, and then lost it all. He died October 15, 1916, at the age of 84 years.
