Billy Nelson was a Lightweight boxer in the Pacific Northwest during the late teens and early 1920s, boxing out of Portland and Spokane. During the 1930s, he became the trainer of Tiger Jack Fox. He also traveled with Fox, when he settled in New York and was his manager and trainer of record in New York, while Al Morse his other manager remained in Spokane. His relationship with Fox appears to have ended with Fox shortly after his failure to win the vacant World Light Heavyweight title from Melio Bettina in 1939.
