Amateur Career

  • Asloum won the Gold Medal representing France at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, boxing as a Light Flyweight (48 kg):
  • This was France's first Olympic Gold Medal in boxing in 64 years. The last Gold Medal was won at Berlin in 1936, when middleweight Jean Despeaux and light-heavyweight Roger Michelot won their divisions.

Professional Career

  • On September 6, 2009 Asloum announced his retirement from boxing.
