Summary

"Clyde Gray of Toronto won the Canadian welterweight boxing championship Thursday night by winning a 12 round majority decision from Donato Paduano of Montreal in a rough contest. Gray set the pace early in the fight as he continually used an educated left jab to his advantage and then crowded his shorter opponent. Paduano found himself in trouble early as the 4th round when Gray chased him all around the ring and the former champ wound up with a narrow cut above his left eyebrow. However, while Gray failed to immediately reopen the gash, he continued to control the bout and refused to allow Paduano to open up." -Canadian Press
