2010-08-21 : Raul Rivera 135½ lbs lost to Shemuel Pagan 135½ lbs by UD in round 4 of 4

Southpaw Shmuel Pagan, a five time New York Golden Gloves Champion, scored an an impressive decision victory in his pro debut at The Prudential Center in Newark. Pagan outpointed winless lightweight Raul Rivera over four rounds. Pagan had height and reach advantage, and kept throwing jabs till he dropped Rivera with an overhand right in the second. Rivera had little offense, but still held his hands high in defense, and Pagan tagged him whenever he dropped his guard. Pagan landed good left and right jabs throughout and occasional power shots, but appeared tentative until the final round. In the fourth, Pagan staggered Rivera with numerous power shots. Rivera, taking a beating, got on his bicycle and ran to survive. Given the knockdown and lack of offense of any kind by Rivera, scoring was accurate. Pagan, amateur record of 85-19, had his professional debut televised on undercard of Tomas Adamek vs Michael Grant pay-per-view an hour after bout took place on tape delay.
