2010-09-01 : Rafael Vazquez 127 lbs beat Benjamin Morales 127 lbs by UD in round 4 of 4

Junior lightweight Rafael Vazquez of Queens, New York, won his professional debut with a four round unanimous decision over Benjamin Morales of Allentown, Pennsylvania, now 1-1. The bout was very competitive. A key detail was a slight difference in size. Morales, whose corner had originally prepared him to fight someone else, was clearly a featherweight, and looked closer to 118 pounds, not a junior lightweight. Vazquez appeared bigger in both size and weight and was at 127 pounds. Vazquez was a bit more aggressive in the first round, winning it by landing more jabs. Morales was a bit more aggressive in the second round, landing more power rights. Both fighters traded power shots in the third, won by Vazquez, who landed more often and more effectively. Vazquez was warned for low blows by referee Benjy Esteves Jr. in the fourth, and got away with a few more. Vazquez landed more power shots overall than Morales did in the fourth and final round to clearly win the bout outright. Scoring appeared to be fair.
