Frank Sinatra was the son of boxer Marty O'Brien, who's real name was Anthony Martin Sinatra, manager of boxer Cisco Andrade, a close friend of boxing trainer Al Silvani; and professionally sang, danced, made records, and appeared in movies and on television.

Sinatra promoted the June 23, 1947 bout between Jersey Joe Walcott and Joey Maxim at Los Angeles's Gilmore Stadium.
