Fred Pearl

Fred Pearl (born: 1879 (est.) was an American boxing promoter and matchmaker based in Sacramento, California. He was the matchmaker for the L-St Arena in Sacramento, CA, USA, beginning in the early 1920s. Pearl was active in boxing promotion and matchmaking Sacramento as late as 1959, at the age of 80. Pearl's promotional company was known as the Victory Athletic Club as early as 1940. In 1952, Pearl joined into a promotional partnership with then Sacramento rival Jackie King under the banner of King's company the Auditorium Boxing Club; this partnership continued throughout the 1950s.

Pearl also managed Babe Herman. Pearl's daughter Ralpha was married to heavyweight contender Buddy Baer from 1939 to 1943.
