Neither man landed anything of note in the opening round, as Rosado looked to get in quickly and land single shots and Powell waited for countering opportunities. A chess-match second round saw Powell connect with a flurry in the second half of the round and closed with a nice right hook. Connect percentages remained low in Round 3. Rosado landed a decent left hook early in Round 4 and worked well to the body in the final minute of the round. A straight left hand midway through the round was Powell's highlight. Powell landed the cleaner shots and made his opponent miss in the first half of Round 5, before Rosado stepped up his aggression to close the round. Rosado fought much of Round 6 with his arms at his side and looked to slip Powell's punches. Through the first half of the fight, each man seemed more concerned with avoiding his opponents attack, than landing shots of his own. Rosado landed a few good right hands in Round 7 to likely earn the round. Rosado wobbled Powell early in Round 9 with a left uppercut and caught him with power shots as Powell attempted to cover up and clinch to gather himself. Powell was allowed to frequently grab onto the top rope with one glove while he was off balance. Powell closed with a good straight left hand. Rosado applied pressure in Round 10 and worked well with Powell against the ropes. A left hand to the top of the head caused Powell to bend forward and his gloves to touch the mat. He received a mandatory eight-count and action continued. Rosado cornered Powell and worked him over against the ropes as Smoger looked on closely. A pair of left uppercuts sent Powell into the ropes and down for the second time. At that, the referee waved an end to the bout without beginning a count.
