1963 National AAU Bantamweight Champion. 1961-63-64 Louisiana State Golden Gloves Champion 1962-63-64 Southern AAU Champion 1963 Pan American Trials Runnerup 1964 Chosen by U.S. State Department for a six week tour of East Africa and Algiers to give exhibitions and boxing instructions. Other Team members were Jesse Valdez, Johnny Joiner Jr., Leroy Romero and Mario Saurennan. Coaches were Joe Martin (Young Cassius Clays first trainer), Chuck Bodak and Lovell Williams.

Gerry Lott was drafted in 1968, 4 months after his last pro fight. Lott sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs in Vietnam ending his boxing career. From 1991 to 1998 Lott was co-owner of Neutral Corner Boxing Gym in New Orleans with John Carmody of Australia. After 21 years with the New Orleans Fire Department he retired to Boulder, CO.
