In the late 1940s he was a boxing trainer in Portland, Oregon. He usually worked with boxers in the stable of Portland manager Paul Smalley. In 1952, Eagles was promoting boxing shows in Tucson, Arizona. He was managing boxers in the 1960s, including Seattle Middleweight Willie Jennings.
