On August 5, 2005, Simon was given a two-year jail sentence after he was found guilty of "culpable homicide" stemming from a November 2002 car accident that resulted in the deaths of three people. Sentencing Report On September 28, 2013, the 41 year old Simon won the vacant IBF International Light Heavyweight title, his first title bout in over a decade, by unanimous decision over Serbia's Geard Ajetovic in 12 rounds.
