Weekend Notes: Jeff Fenech becomes the tenth fighter to be elected in their first year of eligibility. Ingemar Johansson is the first fighter from Sweden to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Pipino Cuevas becomes the seventh Mexican fighter inducted, joining Canto, Napoles, Olivares, Ramos, Sanchez and Zarate. Promoter Aileen Eaton becomes the first female honoree. Ringside lectures were given by Earnie Shavers, Jeff Fenech, Marlon Starling, Simon Brown, Nino Benvenuti, Alexis Arguello, Lou Duva, Henry Cooper, Gerry Cooney, and Bert Sugar. Public workout sessions were also conducted by Christy Martin, Paulie Ayala and Jesse James Leija.
