Weekend Notes: George Foreman and Mike McCallum become the eleventh and twelveth fighters to be elected in their first year of eligibility. Promoter Dan Duva joins his father, legendary trainer/manager Lou Duva, a 1998 inductee, in the Hall of Fame becoming only the third father-son combination elected. The other two being Professor Mike Donovan (1998) and his son, referee Arthur (1993) and Dutch Sam (1997) and his son Young Dutch Sam (2002). Ringside lectures were given by Curtis Cokes, Mike McCallum, Ken Buchanan, Earnie Shavers, Jimmy Ellis, Ricardo Lopez, Donald Curry, Ken Norton, Arthur Mercante & Joe Cortez, Chris Byrd, Frank Bruno & Bert Sugar, and George Chuvalo. Highlighting the weekend was the Thursday afternoon marriage of Aaron Pryor and his fiancee Frankie Lynn Wagner at the Hall of Fame's brand new Courtyard of Champions Events Amphitheater. Canastota's Mayor Todd Rouse performed the ceremony as Aaron and Frankie exchanged vows to become husband and wife. Maids of honor were Elizabeth Wagner and Christy Martin and the best man was Aaron Pryor, Jr.
