Promoter Joe Lynch is perhaps best-known for staging cards at the Olympic Auditorium during the early 1940s. Lynch first crashed the Los Angeles area sports scene with western rodeos and jitterbug contests at the Memorial Coliseum before becoming a matchmaker at the Olympic for just a few weeks. One of his programs there was featured by a title bout between Richie Lemos and Pittsburg Jackie Wilson; outdoors, one of his biggies was between Willie Joyce and Henry Armstrong. Lynch was known to drive a 1932 Model A roadster in near mint condition.
