A colorful ring announcer, Kelly designated Eugene Hart with the name 'Cyclone' and was a long-time friend and liaison of Ralph Tribuani. He ran his family's business--the Logan House, a tavern established in the 1800s. It included a fine measure of boxing memorabilia during his tenure. Mr. Kelly's son, Michael Kelly, was Joe Frazier's legal representative.
Kelly was elected Sheriff of New Castle County, Delaware in 1974.
