In 1951 Kenny Davis fighting out of of Los Angeles, CA won the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions vs. Ronald Bagley of Cleveland, OH by decision at featherweight and represented Chicago for the Intercity Golden Gloves' championship at featherweight being awarded the verdict vs. Frankie Ryff. As a member of the Chicago Golden Gloves Team representing the United States vs. Europe at featherweight he won by tko in the 1st vs. Pauli Dufva of Finland.

In 1952 fighting out of of Los Angeles, CA he won the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions vs. Willie Morton of Kansas City, MO by ko in the 2nd at featherweight and representing Chicago he won the Intercity Golden Gloves' championship at featherweight vs. Iaasc Chestnut.
