2010-08-21 : Marco Huck 198½ lbs beat Matt Godfrey 198¾ lbs by TKO at 2:18 in round 5 of 12

In his sixth world title bout, WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck came forward as the aggressor all night. American challenger Matt Godfrey stayed in front of Huck as an easy stationary target and never moved nor changed his game plan, and thus took a lot of punishment from a too strong champion. A straight right by Godfrey dropped Huck in rounds 2 and 5. An unanswered series of blows by Huck sent Godfrey to the canvas in round 5 a second time, down and through the ropes. He beat the count, but the bout was stopped soon thereafter with a lot of power punches by Huck landing unanswered. Huck's participation in the upcoming 'Cruiserweight Super Six' tournament being put together by Huck's manager, German boxing promoter Wilfried Sauerland, was confirmed after this bout.
