2011-10-07 : Osumanu Adama 159 lbs beat Roman Karmazin 157 lbs by TKO at 0:58 in round 9 of 12

In the main event of an eight fight card held at The Club in Burbank, Illinois, promoted by Cynthia Tolaymat's Chicago Fight Club Promotion, USMA Middleweight title holder Osumanu Adama scored a ninth round stoppage of Roman Karmazin in an IBF - International Boxing Federation title eliminator for the # 1 or # 2 ratings position and a future shot at the IBF world title held by Daniel Geale of Australia. The IBF website at this time stated Geale's title was next scheduled to be defended on February 7, 2012.

Adama used power left hooks to stagger Karmazin around the ring in rounds five, eight and nine, his best rounds. With Karmazin taking a beating in round nine, the Karmazin corner threw in the towel to end the content at 0:58 of round nine. Adama, of Accra, Ghana, now fighting out of Chicago, trained by Joseph Awinongya, goes to 19-2, 14 kayos. Karmazin, 38, a Russian fighting out of Los Angeles, 40-4-2, 26 kayos, has not won a bout in two years.

A scheduled bout between former world Welterweight champion Vivian Harris and local Chicago fighter Jermaine White was cancelled due to issues with white's bloodwork.

Hitman Thomas Hearns was in attendance. Ex-fighters (and now trainers) Irish Mickey Ward and his brother Dicky Eklund worked the corners of two Irish fighters who fought on the undercard. The card also featured the pro boxing debuts of MMA heavyweight fighter Boban Samic and cruiserweight amateur champion Junior Wright.
