Notes

  • "Bantamweight contender Rodolfo Martinez, 117 3/4, scored a 7th round knockout over Mexico's Famoso Gomez, 118, in a showdown for the vacant NABF bantamweight title. Martinez, the stylish boxer with the big punch, was behind on points waiting for an opening to land his knockout blow. It came in the 7th round after Gomez had just landed a left hook. Martinez let go with a left from nowhere to Gomez' chin for the KO at 2:07 of the 7th round. Martinez has now been promised a fight for the title with new champion Rafael Herrera." -Pasadena Star-News
