1976-01-30 : Rodolfo Martinez 117½ lbs beat Venice Borkhorsor 117¼ lbs by SD in round 15 of 15

"Rodolfo Martinez, Mexico, forced to change his style after three rounds, survived a 2nd round knockdown and retained his WBC bantamweight title with a 15 round split decision over Thailand's Venice Borkorsor. Martinez, who lost the opening three rounds to the challenger, cleverly switched from orthodox to a southpaw stance from the fourth round on, which changed the complexion of the fight. He bloodied Venice's nose with right jabs, and then unleashed a one-two combination that first hurt and then completely closed the challenger's right eye in the 6th round. The Thai fighter fought courageously after the 7th round with one eye closed but could not alter the outcome of the fight, which Martinez had swung round in dramatic fashion midway through the action packed fight." -United Press International
