Scott Quigg versus Rendall '2Tone' Munroe II Interim WBA Super Bantamweight Title Bout

In an all-England main event rematch of a bout held June 16, 2012, after an accidental headbutt to Munroe's head caused a technical draw, Quigg dropped Munroe twice in the sixth round with body shots to win the interim WBA World Super Bantamweight title. Quigg, now 25-1`with 18 knockouts, at the time of this bout the # 20 Boxrec Super Bantamweight, won every round as the busier boxer fromt he second round on, though Munroe's power shots had more force. Numerous left hands to the body by Quigg were getting through, though, and eventually broke Munroe down. With the win, Quigg set himself up for a shot at the full WBA World Super Bantamweight title against the winner of current WBA world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux versus former WBA world champion Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym or an interim WBA title defense against Boxrec # 10 Commonwealth (British Empire) Super Bantamweight champion Carl Frampton of Northern Ireland. On the undercard, the comeback of local hero and former World Light Welterweight champion Ricky Hatton of Manchester after more than three years out of the ring ended in failure. Hatton got knocked out by a body shot in the ninth round by former World Welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko of the Ukraine.
