Bout Summary

Mitchell controlled the action throughout being the better-schooled of the two. He had success with a stiff jab that repeatedly got to White and found success to the body when in close. A jab to the chest sent an off-balance White down at 0:43 of the opening round. He was up immediately and following the mandatory eight-count action continued. White charged out of the corner quickly to begin Round 2 and the two threw power shots momentarily. Both men received a warning for failing to break when commanded to do so by the referee and White was warned for holding behind the head early in the round. A pair of right hands hurt White and sent him retreating to the ropes at 0:48 of Round 2. Mitchell followed up with a nice right hook to the body, before White was able was able to tie up his opponent. Another solid jab buckled the knees of White at 1:04 and sent him stumbling forward. A follow-up right hand caused White to stumble backwards into the ropes. With White badly wobbled and bleeding from a cut that had just opened on the outside of his left eyebrow, the referee waved an end to the bout.
