Career Summary

Sid Flaherty was a prominent boxing manager originally based out of San Francisco. In San Francisco he worked with Carl (Bobo) Olson, guiding him to the World Middleweight Title. In 1957, he moved his operations to Portland, Oregon, taking Olson there with him, as well as a top Heavyweight contender he had begun managing, Eddie Machen.

He became the manager of the Moyer brothers, Denny and Phil in 1957, when they turned professional. Denny would go on to win the World Light Middleweight Title.
