Simon Byrne

Simon Byrne, 32, died May 30, 1833, of injuries sustained during a 99-round bout (the longest championship bout on record, at 3 hours and 16 minutes) with James Burke at London, England. Byrne himself had been involved in the ring-death of Alexander McKay three years earlier.
