Trond Berntsen

Trond Berntsen, born in 1960 in Norway, was a top amateur boxer of the 1980s and took part in many international and Scandinavian tournaments. He became the Norwegian amateur champion in 1989. In 1987 he was stopped by later World Middleweight Champion Gerald McClelland in Norway.

Berntsen, a police officer and the stepbrother of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was working as a guard at the small island Ut√łya, outside Oslo, when a terrorist opened gunfire at at political youth camp on July 22, 2011. Berntsen was the second of the 68 victims killed on the island. He was 51-years-old.
