  • 1890: New Orleans City Ordinance permits Athletic Clubs to sponsor glove fights.
  • 1909-11-23: Draws and No decision bouts only. Tacoma Daily Ledger
  • 1914-06-27: State Senate passes bill authorizing 20-round decision bouts. The House had passed it earlier. It will go to Gov. Hall for ultimate approval or veto. If enacted, Louisiana will be the second state, after California, to authorize 20-round championship matches. Currently, only 10-round no-decision bouts are allowed. June 28 New York Times, p. S1.
