- 1897: Nevada legalizes boxing to permit the title bout between Jim Jeffries and Bob Fitzsimmons.
- 1913-03-23: Gov. Oddie signs act repealing the law permitting finish fights, and now permitting ten-rounders on payment of a nominal license. 
- 1913-05-06: First bouts conducted in Reno under new ten-round law. Tacoma Daily News (Tacoma, WA, USA) wire report
- 1919-03-06: Legislature passes amendment allowing 25 rounds to a decision, over Governor Boyle's veto. "Contestants must be white men." (This was still the law until as late as April 1931.)
