Inserting Dated Text

Turpintime (or Brizel): please do not insert text that will become dated, such as stating someone like Chuck Mussachio is a current world champion. When the day comes that he loses that title, someone is gonna have to remember to edit the text back. That someone is a champion will be obvious by looking at his linked career record. And, once again, do the same for the fight pages you have been creating, and you are again remined to avoid subjective text. --Ric 01:05, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Cluttering Pages

Please stop cluttering pages by adding those huge images, such as you did recently to the Gerry Cooney page. You can always link to the image instead. --Ric 13:19, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Grammar

Please don't follow a comma with 'and', I have seen it in a lot of your edits. A comma indicates a pause in a sentence whereas 'and' indicates there is no pause. You can't have both ! JohnShep 01:17, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Editing a page

Please use the "Show preview" button to see your changes and only use the "Save page" when you are finished editing the page JohnShep 11:37, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

'Preview' Button

Turpintime (Brizel?): Do you need assistance in how to use the "Show Preview" Button. Please see John's comment to you of a month ago. PLEASE USE the preview button before you SAVE PAGE. Maybe you could first write your text in a word processing program until it says what you want, then copy and paste it here for a final save. --Ric 15:58, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Jay Larkin

Don't add Larkin to the 2010 Deaths page in the manner that you are doing. He is already listed in the category, he is not in the database as a boxer/promoter/manager/matchmaker/referee/judge and will not show up on the list you are seeing on the page.--Matt 19:54, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

This is an Encyclopedia; Please Treat It as Such

This is an objective boxing encyclopedia, not a subjective fansite, newspaper, or magazine. An encyclopedia is supposed to be 100% objective; there is no room for praise, criticism, or other subjective text--such as you put in the fight pages and some boxer pages you have contributed here. Further, your fight pages often state the obvious: such as the scoring, venue, and weight class. Or your boxer pages also state the obvious, such as who the boxer fought. (One can view that boxer's linked career record to see that. There is no need to restate that boxer's past opponents.) Please adhere to the BoxRec Wiki guidelines.

Are you sure you are not Brizel, who, when I had a private e-mail with him, advising him of the very same things you are doing in your fight pages, responded that BoxRec was sh*t and that he was about to work for a new boxing Web site that would kick BoxRec's ass, and that he (Brizel) was known for his fantastic writing, so who was I to critique his contributions to this Wiki? --Ric 02:51, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
