  • Ballone was rated WBC #24 before the fight, Palicte WBC #21
  • International referee Daniel Van de Wiele deducted one point in round 4 from champ Palicte due to a nasty cut on Ballone’s eyebrow which was produced by an accidental head butt from Palicte
  • The same injury was getting worse in later rounds and , after consulting with the ringside physician, the referee had no alternatives but to stop the fight at 1’10” of round 8
