Career Review

Al Stankie was a former Los Angeles police officer. After his boxing career, he became the manager and trainer of 1984 Olympic Light Flyweight Gold Medalist Paul Gonzales.

Later, Stankie became the boxing coach for Mixed Martial Arts fighter, Vitor Belfort. Under Stankie's guidence, Belfort won his first 4 mixed martial arts fights by first round knockouts, most in mere seconds.[citation needed]
