As an amateur, Harry Mizler, the younger brother of fellow boxer Moe Mizler, was the ABA bantamweight and Gold Medalist at the inaugural British Empire Games in 1930. He also won the ABA Bantamweight championship in 1932 and the ABA Lightweight championship in 1933. Mizler represented Great Britain as a lightweight at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Mizler lost his opening bout on points to American Nat Bor.
