As an amateur, he was the bantamweight gold medalist at the inaugural British Empire Games, in 1930. Mizler is the younger brother of fighter Moe Mizler. He also won the British lightweight championship in 1934. Much of this record is taken from the 1942 Ring Record Book and Mizler's record compiled by Miles Templeton.
