Bout Summary

A tentative opening two round saw both fighters shaking off nerves and feeling out their opponent. Round 3 was a big one for Hopkins as he found success with the right hand and shook knees the Pascal. In Round 4, the two exchanges power shots frantically at times. It appeared Hopkins may have been a bit wobbled as the round concluded. In the 6th, action was paused as the referee called time out to warn both fighters to break when told. Prior to the bell to being Round 7, Hopkins began doing pushups in the ring. The close, heavy-handed action continued through the 9th. In the 9th Round, Pascal's gloved touched after a cupping shot and was ruled a slip. In Round 10, Hopkins was warned twice for holding down Pascal's head. Midway through the round, Hopkins landed a right hand that caused an off balanced Pascal's glove to touch the mat. It was ruled, surprisingly, to be a slip. In the 11th, Pascal appeared to be tiring and Hopkins likely took the round.
