Viscusi grew up in Tampa, Florida, and moved to Hartford, Connecticut in 1929. He immeadiately began working as a manager and promoter. He promoted boxing, wrestling, and circuses. He managed three world champions; Willie Pep, Bob Foster, and Joe Brown.
