In a DiBella Entertainment-Broadway Boxing main event of a five bout five card held at B.B. King Blues and supperclub in New York City, broadcast on Sports New York on a tape delay, and co-sponsored by HBO Sports, in a rematch of former WBO Junior Welterweight champions, Randall ' The Knockout King' Bailey of Miami, Florida, won an eight round unanimous decision over DeMarcus 'Chop-Chop' Corley of Washington D.C., now 37-10-1 with 8 kayos, in a bout originally scheduled for ten. Bailey, now 38-6 with 34 kayos, came forward from the opening bell and pressed the action for all eight rounds, throwing a mix of right-left power punches to the body and accurate head shots that scored. Corley spent the fight backing up and tieing Bailey up (with some headlocks) and landed a few good counterpunches. A straight hand from Bailey put Corley on the seat of his pants midway through round three, and Corley took a count of eight on one knee. Corley was also staggered by Bailey in the fourth. Corley appeared only to win the eighth, after he appeared to intentionally headbutt Bailey and the referee did nto allow for a rest period. Corley then 'swung away' at Bailey after the butt. Bailey appeared to throw accurate punches, while Corley threw alot of punches that missed. Overall, it was a competitive fight and neither fight was hurt or marked during the eight rounder. It was told to the press at ringside that the originally scheduled main event, a ten rounder between junior welterweights Edgar Santana and Luis Rodriguez, got scratched at the eleventh hour when Rodriguez was detained at Kennedy Airport by U.S. immigration officials, who did not admit him into the United States. Celebrities at ringside included boxers Emile Griffith, Iran Barkley, ex-Olympian Saddam Ali, Shawn George, Elvis Muriqi, Travis Simms, Peter Quillin, Jorge Teron, Danny Jacobs and Junior Jones, and New York Giants football players Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw.
