- Pastrano was knocked down, by two left hooks to the body, in the 6th, for a nine count. It was the first time down in his career. He was barely up at nine, with about one minute to go in the round. He also suffered a nose bleed in one, and a puff under the left eye from round seven.
- Referee Johnny LoBianco stopped the bout between the 9th and 10th rounds.
- Pastrano retired from boxing after the fight.
- Main event of a double world title feature, with Emile Griffith facing Jose Stable for the Welterweight title, as well.
