Amateur Career

Zou Shiming sometimes written Zou Shi ming or Zhou Shi Ming (鄒市明, born May 18, 1981 in Zunyi) was the silver medalist at the 2003 World Amateur championships. Zou won the Light flyweight bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic. In 2005 he won the world championships in his home country in Mianyang. In 2008 Zou, won the Light flyweight gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, joining Zhang Xiaoping as the first Chinese gold medalist in boxing..

In the 2006 Asian Games Zou won the Light flyweight (-48 kg) division, in the final match against Thailand's Suban Pannon 21-1. In 2007, Zou repeated as the world amateur championship at Light flyweight in the competition held in Chicago.
