Re: Mark Durdis
You haven't answered the question sir! This is important.... How would you say it, phonetically? :P Depends on how HE pronounces it it could be Paul Smith as its spelled or Paul Smyth as in Sm-eye-th. I would check first. :-) I would assume its Paul Smith but since you are asking, it may be somethi...

Ha ha... a short pencil is always better than a long memory! Write EVERYTHING down always! :-) I even write the ref and timekeeper on my bout cards to ensure I don't miss anything!

Re: Heated head to head Leon McKenzie v John McCallum
The American guy interviewing is Bret Hollywood who does all the MCing for Godwin promotions. He also does Pool; MMA and a host of other stuff. II believe he is a member on here. From memory he recently won Come dine with me where Alex Reed was a guest of his on his dinning night. Yep, thats me :-)...

Re: Goodwin Show 14/3/15 York Hall
What were the thoughts on Garton's opponent? Pleased to see he won, and another stoppage, but I know nothing about his opponent (other than looking at boxrec) so not sure what/if anything should be read into the win? Is Garton ready for an English title shot? I really enjoyed this show! I may be bi...

Re: York Hall 13/12/14
I saw from Battle's FB page he broke his hand in the second... He's calling for a rematch. Goodwin said he's looking into it. Should be interesting if he gets it!

Re: York Hall 13/12/14
I was the MC for this show. Here is a brief roundup... Battle laid on the pressure for sure! He had Garton defending all night. A couple of good shots from Garton however got him the W. Was an entertaining fight, I think Battle has huge potential, he didn't take a step backward all night! Im not tak...

Re: John Mcdonald
It's not easy to do!! & there's not many that can do it, simple as It's not exactly rocket science. I have to say, there is a bit of a knack to being a good MC. Everytime I meet someone new and they ask what I do...I am almost always greeted with a "Lets get Ready to Rumble" and an &q...

Re: Eddie Hearn vs Frank Warrens sons
I think that is a great point David! They have both come into the family business with an established brand and pedigree etc... Surely they have both learned a lot from their respective families...and I am sure will both be good at what they do, but I guess it all comes down to their motivation and ...

Re: Will Audley do an 'Alex Reid' Post CBB ?
It was on the now defunct Bravo, and it started at 10pm. You are mistaken. Oh yes my mistake, they didn't start on ch5 until after the Bravo ch went south. and FWIW, MMA in my opinion will never make it main stream in the UK... in the Reid v Watson fight, the focus was on Katie Price more than the ...

Re: Will Audley do an 'Alex Reid' Post CBB ?
Reid v 'Kong', done 835k on an obscure channel between 10-11pm after Reid came across well on CBB a few years back. The Reid v Watson fight was on CH5 at 9:00 pm hardly an obscure channel. I think Audley will definitely be up for a big event after this with Maloney promoting... its all a bit too co...

Re: Michael Buffer - Lets Get Ready to Rumble
The BBC wanted to call their new show (featuring your hero Carl Froch) Let's Get Ready to Tumble but they had to reduce it to tumble for complex legal reasons. Apparently it's down to Buffer's people. Seems a bit strange and harsh but it does appear that the phrase is worth a mint to him! It all co...

Re: Michael Buffer - Lets Get Ready to Rumble
Here is a pretty good short article on Buffer from BBC Sport. talks about how he got into announcing etc... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/27517733 He has been a great announcer but you have to wonder at almost 70 yrs old how long he will go on. I hope for a long time yet but in the mean time.....

Re: Michael Buffer - Lets Get Ready to Rumble
All credit to Michael Buffer, he will be 70 this year, survived throat cancer and is still working all over the world! he's had a great career and one of the reasons I got into announcing myself. He has influenced ring announcer throughout his career which is good and bad I think. There are a lot of...

Re: Richard Commey v Gary Buckland
I am the MC for Goodwin events and was ring side for this one. Buckland is a tough kid for sure took some good shots and kept moving forward. I think he definitely controlled the ring but Comey is a cardio machine! He is fast and crisp... But as the previous post suggests, not a murderous puncher. A...
