Sonny Liston's age

Sonny Liston had a 21 year old daughter when he won the title...Yet he was 'supposed' to be 32. How old do you think he really was?

Meehan vs. Tua!!!

Why hasnt this fight been talked about as much as others? Its a better match up than Tua/Welliver or Meehan/Liapai at this point especially in Australia/New Zealand. :bag:

Re: Is Vaitele Soi the next David Tua?????

I think Vitali will be just fine in due time. With more experience he will only get better and can make some noise at cruiserweight. I have sparred Moyoyo and Vitali I think Soi would beat him right now and in 6 months or so absolutly destroy Mensah. He has a good chin and he can punch at his weight.

Clarence Tillman goes back to america for a proper fight against ferreyo...i wonder whether hes on a roll from his run down under. He never got this far. He won three prelim fights in New Zealand and he is going back to the States for another prelim fight. For your info we tried to get the fight wi...

Re: PRIZEFIGHTER TOURNAMENT QUESTION!!!

No - but sooner or later it is going to have to go that way - my idea of 'The Ashes Prizefighter' 4 heavyweights from Australia and 4 heavyweights from Great Britian would go down an absolute bomb - its time we started going international with prizefighter! Its a format that seems to work best with...

Re: Starting a career

If its what you really want dont let anyone make you decision for you. I started boxing at 25 and had a pretty good amatuer career. Just remember you have to catch up so what price are you willing to pay to do so?

Re: Michael Hunter jr?

I also spoke with Mike recently and I shared my thoughts with him. He should stay amateur for at least 2 more years or try to make the next Olympic team. As you all see there is not a huge market for the Olympians from this past Olympics as only a few have signed. The pro game is almost a different ...

Clarence - who is your manager? That is a tough debut to box a guy who is 3-0 and a former top amateur. better yet, who is Willis' manager??? I'd say it's a tough fight for both early on in their careers... I didnt know it was Jonte until maybe a week before the fight. We are good friends also but ...

Yesterday I was in the gym and a well respected manager was there discussing that he and a well known promoter was in talks with several Cuban officials to allow them to turn pro after age 24. That way they can compete as amatuers and still have time for a decent pro career.

Just wait until 2012...They will be allowed to turn pro after the 2008 Olympics, so the amatuer dominance will be hurt by that.
