Re: Boxing's Pu$$y Era is here...Who are the top 5 P4P Pu$$ies in Boxing?

It is a chicken and egg scenario.
If the public don't pay to watch boxing the boxers don't get paid. So it can be said they box for money, but the money is there as a result of the public paying money to be entertained.

Re: Boxing's Pu$$y Era is here...Who are the top 5 P4P Pu$$ies in Boxing?

I find it sad, that anyone can call a professional boxer out like this. These guys put their lives on the line week in, week out for our entertainment. So let me ask all of you a question "Would you climb into the ring to have a fight in front of 100 people, 1000 people, 10000 people screaming,...

Groves Madatory for Smith ???

Has anyone else seen the latest from George Groves around being made manadatory by the all powerful EBU for a fight against Callum Smith ??? http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/boxing/news/george-groves-to-face-callum-smith_270584.html Does anyone really think that Callum is going to be bothered about being...

Re: Good luck Nick Blackwell

It's mega to see Mr Blackwell up and about again. Was a scary time. But now he needs to be really really careful as I am sure I can see a packet of "squashies" on the bed there. Be warned nick, they are about to officially be classed as the crack cocaine of the sweety world. .... I know, a...

Re: Blackwell stoppage.

Firstly i want to wish Nick Blackwell a Speedy recovery. In terms of the timing of the stoppage it is all too easy for us punters at home to say it was too early or too late. The ref and the cornermen are the only people who know both the sport and their fighter better than any of us. Something that...

Re: Tickets for Joshua fight sell out in 90 seconds

Given that the arena in which the fight is taking place can hold over 15000 folks I find it amazing that it sold out in 90 seconds. I understand it is for a big world title shot for an Olympic gold medalist and that the average fan on the street will have an interest. But, and this is a big but. The...

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Charles Martin (c) - April 9th 2016

It's about time that the authorities stand up and stop the resale of tickets unless they are at face value only. Tickets appearing on stub hub at 5 times face value less than a minute after they have apparently gone on sale through official sellers is bordering on illegal. As a working father of 2 I...

Re: AJ FIGHTING CHARLES MARTIN!!

Looking forward to this one. Another chance for another British world champion. Whether we think AJ is ready or if we all think that Martin is not true world level, is all irrelevant as they are getting it on. This might not be potentially the most exciting fight between the two best heavyweights on...

Re: Kevin Mitchell Retired

It make me giggle with the number of people laying into Mitchell upon his announcement to retire. While we all have our opinions on how good or bad a boxer is or was, I would imagine that very few people on here (excepting the boxers of course() trying to tear him to pieces would have the nerve to g...

Re: Best /worst boxing venue.

So, I am chuffed by the responses here. I notice that the old MEN arena is getting a lot of good press from the Hatton days. I can only imagine how great some of those nights were. Unfortunately I well never return there given the disgusting behaviour of the crowd around me and the missus. Racist ch...

Best /worst boxing venue.

Something maybe a little different here. I am interested to know what people's favorite and worst boxing venue has been for atmosphere and fight quality. For my own starter for ten, my favorite venue was Wembley for the froch vs groves rematch atmosphere was incredible as was the stadium. My least f...

Re: Next For George Groves?

Not wanting to court controversy here, I how that who ever he fights next beats him. I am sick of groves constant spouting that he is world class, and then blaming his trainer when he loses. What will the next excuse be? Will it be because he is ginger, will it be because he is bald, or will he fin...

Re: Bruno return

This is such a sad thing to hear. Bruno was my idol growing up, and I remember like yesterday bawling my eyes out in the pub when he finally won the world title. This is a sad sign of the state of mental health care today. Frank is clearly a poorly man and needs intervention if these thoughts are se...

Re: Doping; Who are the most criticized boxers?

For what my opinion is worth, boxers should be subject to the same testing regime as professional athletes. Random tests at any time of the day or night. No excuses. Remember this. In athletics the doping might mean someone jumps higher or runs faster. In boxing it could mean the difference between ...

Re: Khan vs Canelo is on

My oh my oh my. Never would have predicted such a huge mismatch. Are we even sure that he knows what he is doing, or is this a match up made by his father? Surely his family need to get involved and pull the plug on this sooner rather than later. I fear that this will sign khan out of boxing forever...

Re: so now who wins david haye or anthony joshua ?

As a fan of both fighters I don't care who would win. It would just very likely be very frantic, very exciting, and very short. Haye appears to have slowed some what with the additional timber that has gone on whilst Mr Joshua is getting too muscle bound for my liking therfore reducing his flexibili...

Re: Anyone else surprised by how long it took Wilder to stop Szpilka?

Not surprised about how long it took to stop him, more concerned about the fact that the Americans have zero ideas on boxers welfare after such a huge knockout. Did anyone see any oxygen? Nope because there was none. It took nearly 5 minutes for the paramedics to even get into the ring and all they ...

Re: George Groves vs. Andrea Di Luisa - January 30th 2016

I hope that George wins the bout convincingly so that he can again shout about being 'world class' something which unfortunately he has never really been. Yes he looked incredible for 6 rounds against a Carl froch who clearly had not made the effort required for the fight. But when the championship ...
