Is it correct that Joshua:
- picked the ref?
- picked the giant ring size?
- earns 6 times as much as Ruiz?
Ruiz is really just in there for the paycheck, huh?

Re: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua 2 - December 7, 2019
Guess they like WWE better. :maybe: Yeah, you’re probably right. I can hear the music echo around the stadium. Zero crowd noise. I’m actually quite disappointed. I love a rowdy crowd that gets highly-excited about pivotal moments during bouts. The highlight of the evening are the British fans that ...

I wonder why they didn't go for a Montell Griffin - RJJ setup. Have Floyd DQ'ed for a late-blow and then cash in on a rematch.asdfjkl wrote:There were quite a lot of moments where points should have been taken of, also from Mayweather with his after the bell punch.

Re: Wake The Heck Up People...Floyd Carried Conor! Enough
I doubt that Conor ever believed he could beat Floyd. He's way too smart for that. If you earn 40 mio dollars in 2016 as an MMA-fighter, then you have to be incredibly business-savvy cause that's lightyears away from the earnings of any other MMA-fighter ever. The only reason he wanted the fight was...

Re: Should points have been taken off McGregor?
Considering the judges had it so damn wide in favor of Floyd, what would have been the point? 8-1 scores were ridiculous. It was either 5-4 or 6-3 or 5-3-1 for Floyd. Plus, Floyd would have obviously handily won round 10, 11 and 12. Probably with 10-8 or worse had the fight continued and McGregor s...

Re: Should points have been taken off McGregor?
There are five people who would have deserved point deductions for various reasons: 1. The kind of person that bets on McGregor with a 5/2 betting line. 2. Kellerman for bloating that Conor will land 0 punches. 3. The referee for being biased even before the bell. Have you ever seen a ref only talki...

"Already washed up"?????
He is 40 years old and semi-retired for years. A typical boxer is washed up way before he turns 40.
He would probably still beat everyone in his division. Except for B-Hop there is hardly any boxer who aged better than Floyd.

Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
a question to people that wants McG to continue in boxing - who would you like to be his next opponent? I could imagine a fight vs. Paul Malinaggi. It would be a credible matchup with Conor not being outclassed and you got a story behind it. Could generate moderate interest, no relevance obviously....

Re: McGregor robbed in Mayweather fight.
To be fair, I didn't think he was saying it was early per se, just saying he'd rather have been allowed to continue until he was knocked down. Some people won't go down until they're unconscious though how long you let him get tagged standing up before you stop it UFC fans seem to not understand th...

McCregor won round 1,2,3 after that it was all Floyd. I thought Connor did pretty good. Better than I thought. ..that's pretty much the way I saw it..looked like a chess game to me where the grandmaster figured the novice out in the first 3-4 rounds and then was gradually taking him apart.. There w...

If he boxes again and the money is there it will be Malignaggi in New York (Madison Square Garden if it's available) on St Patrick's Day. It will be Ireland versus Italy and the Irish and Italian Americans will lap it up. Not gonna happen. UFC ain't gonna allow it. Not enough money in a fight with ...

Shocking performance from McGregor. Very entertaining fight, best possible ending for Conor(who is cool as eff btw) never went down won a few rounds. Re: McGregor robbed in Mayweather fight.
I thought it was a decent stoppage. Would have let the fight go on a bit longer. I guess the ref felt that an MMA fighter needs extra protection. He didn't want a Tim Hague 2.0, I think. Frankly, I believe that the somewhat premature stoppage was a godsend for McGregor. He would have been floored wi...

Re: Mayweather vs. McGregor: Official Scorercards
I had it 86-85 Floyd coming to the 10th, but the writing was on the wall from the 7th round onward. Most rounds were close and thus open for interpretation. Of course bias will lead towards Mayweather because that's who should dominate the fight. I would give McGregor 2-3 rounds. In the end the fig...

Re: 8 ounces---conor vs floyd
... Of course the smaller gloves if anything will increase the likelihood of a lucky punch ending the fight and those are the only shot Conor has. Don't know why Kellerman is ignorant to that simple logic. Maybe he felt to sophisticated to go with the obvious. One more thing that might make the mir...

I didn't pay for Canelo/Khan either. I don't get sold bullsh*t. If others do that's their problem. Re: How Historic will Mayweather-McGregor be, if the upset happens?
If Conor wins it would be more historic than Rocky Balboa beating Apollo Creed. Rocky did have some pro-boxing bouts on his record after all. Let's be honest here: This fight dominates everything including this board in terms of public interest (not competitiveness or relevance). Everyone loves a go...

Re: 8 ounces---conor vs floyd
Floyd's had a history of hand issues and apparently, the rumor is, Conor has a man's chin. That combination always brings the possibility that the hand brittle fighter will hurt his hands at some point in the fight now you sprinkle in the fact that they are using 8oz gloves...that increases the pos...

Re: Floyd vs Conor, ppv numbers ?
Recent UFC events bombed completely in terms of PPV sales. That's a pretty good indicator that people are saving up on the McGregor fight. The logic is sound: why drop 60 bucks on a mediocre UFC event if you can get the hottest commodity of the sport for 100 bucks?

Re: Will McGregor become a better mma fighter?
The short answer: no I don't see how this would help him in his MMA career, it might actually hurt him because it'll mean he's out for over a full year and presumably has not been training anything besides boxing. He's already a dominant MMA striker so it will help his punching, but his overall gam...

Re: Incredible Mayweather-McGregor Betting Odds!
‘Betway’ now rate Mayweather Jr. as having an implied probability of only 76.92% (30/100) to defeat McGregor. The same bookmaker rates the Irish underdog as having an astonishingly high 27.78% (13/5) chance to score an upset. And Conor’s betting odds are shortening drastically on a daily basis. To ...

Re: 8 ounces---conor vs floyd
If you distinguish between fighting and sports, then the difference has to be: fighting = no restrictions/rules --> the more restrictions the less of a fight it becomes and the more it becomes a sport. MMA has much less restrictions than boxing, so by definition it is more of a fight than boxing. MM...
