Re: Watching Barrera v morales
I bumped into Barrera in McDonalds in Victoria St once. I’d been to see him at the Albert Hall that night . Only went because Paul Lloyd used to train down the Lodge at the time . Could tell he was special, even though I know feck all about boxing.

RIP - ex US marine and was picked for the 1956 US Olympic team until they found out he was actually a goddamn Limey... To echo Taansend's recommendation My Bleedin' Business is a really good read... :TU: Has everyone read it yet? I gave that to a mate of mine from Paddington who lives abroad....

Re: Best Atmosphere
the commentary makes it feel different, its interesting to hear the U.S take on the fight/event as its unfolding, plus they occasionally go back to the U.S studio between rounds to the anchor and bobby czyz for their assessment, I thought it was pretty cool anyway but I am a bit geeky when it comes...

Re: Best Atmosphere
Been to quite a few fights and the one that sticks out was the Benn v Mcclellan fight, there was a dark sense of menace in the air which was chilling. During the fight itself we were on our feet all the way through and only sat down between rounds ourselves and at the end, grown men who did not kno...

Re: Anyone score it 118-110 Canelo???
I'm not talking about 'fixing', toby. I assume the governing bodies are not bent and have faith in the ability of their judges. This fight would have been 345/ 339 Canelo. Just wondering how to avoid draws. Some fights should be a draw. We do not need to avoid draws but we need to avoid incorrect d...

Re: Anyone score it 118-110 Canelo???
Why don't they add up the rounds in the event of a draw? In which case Canelo would have won.

I remember that at the time. People wondering why a 'less advanced' Country specialised in this, and the answer being something about Nazis settling there who had practised on Jewish people. Bit odd, all round.

Re: Tennis ball headband things????
Ones I've seen are ones that people have made themselves. I tried my mates one, about 1/2 elastic stitched to fit around the head with a few knots in the other end stuffed into a small hole in a tennis ball.

Wrapping your hands.
How do you wrap them if you're going on the bag or pads? Saying you don't have tape, do you cross between the knuckles?

I think Bellew comes across as a top fella, except when he puts that act on to sell a fight. Doesn't look natural and he looks a bit silly, but it must work for him.
