Re: Will this make Khan more humble?

Just watched the fight, changed my mind, Peterson deserved the win, though I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have done as knowing the result already put me off a bit. As usual radio makes it sound like a completely different fight on the whole. I thought there was only 3 clear rounds Kha...

Re: Will this make Khan more humble?

No he wouldn't have. Barrera was the easiest of the three Mexicans for him to fight and he was well beaten. Morales would have ruined him. I would say that he'd never have fought again but he only had one more after Barrera and stunk the joint out. Marquez would have toyed with him too, 120-108 x3....

Re: Will this make Khan more humble?

The last big fights in DC were Bowe/Ferguson and RJJ/Hopkins. I don't think anyone believes Jesse or Bernard got robbed that night. But the real reason why the fight happenned there is because Riddick Bowe himself was from Maryland, Washington, so after defeating Evander and throwing the WBC Belt i...

Re: Will this make Khan more humble?

Khan reminds me of Nas (nothing to do with ethnicity) in that he seems to be surrounded by leeches and hangers on (including family members) who are guiding him badly. Personally, I'd prefer to see him surrounded by serious boxing people rather than extended family members etc who are out for a bit...

Re: Gary Mason killed in road accident

This was a cycling accident/collision? I've been wondering if Gary was wearing reflective gear and lights or not. Over the years, especially when making right turns and at certain roundabouts, cyclists without reflective gear and lights often camouflage into the dark night. This happenned at 6.15am...

Re: Gary Mason killed in road accident

I was shocked and gutted when I heard this terrible news. I so used to enjoy him as a studio guest after he retired, he always was interesting to listen to, as well as being funny. I always thought that he shouldn't of been stopped when he was against Lewis, he was giving Lewis plenty of problems be...

Re: All time - Boxer with the best defense?

Michael Watson in his second fight against Eubank was in general awesome until he got caught by that very fast uppercut and hook that floored him.

Eubank was apparently hooked by that performance by watson and couldn't stop watching it!

Re: All time - Boxer with the best defense?

Frank Bruno's defence against Lennox Lewis for the first 6 rounds in their fight was awesome. He was coming forward all the time, gloces held high, taking the fight to Lewis, jabbing while going forward and ever time Lewis tried to punch/jab back, Bruno done absoloutely brilliant blocks. Bruno done ...

Re: What next for Khan?

First of all, somethings not right. Just saw a picture of this Columbian called Presscot (?) and he looks massive in that picture compared to the weigh in pics on tv. Has the press increased his size by doctoring the pic? Its in the observer for those of you who wanna check it out. That Prescot's ri...

116-111 with a KD against him.... rediculous. You only get 1 extra point for a Knock down on top of the 10-9, unless you really win it big or theirs another k down and it can go to 10-7! Hopkins was trying to do a Larry Holmes, use all his old sly fox tricks and thought his limited punches would be...

Most big fights have big coverages/build ups. Tyson/Spinks was pretty massive, god knows why, Spinks was well overrated and a massive let down on the night. Tyson/Bruno 1 for its time, no Sky, 24/7 tv channells was pretty big but so was Bruno's figth with Joe Bugner big! The Bowe/Holly fights, 1 and...

Of recent times Lennox Lewis had the best jab by far, never saw Holmes just before my time.

Well saw him against Tyson but that was a Holmes way past his best.

Moorer had a glass jaw at Heavyweight and I wouldn't have been surprised to have seen Holmes's jab drop him. Lewis certainly would have dropped him easy with a few jabs and a few crosses. Something happenned to Holly in their fight that night that prevented him from being the same fighter he wa s6 m...

Riddick Bowe for starters. He had designs on being the next Tyson but he deliberatly done everything to dispell that after beating Holly. His refusal to fight Lewis was a massive dissapointment and a robbery for the fans. He signed to say he would fight the winner of Lewis/Ruddock and he never did! ...

I don't bet but I had him down to win, he was so "Up" for the fight, so determined in his interviews that you could tell he would do it. Tyson on the other hand was getting more and more lax as time was going on in every way!

I'm not anti Khan, I like him and want him to do well but I don't want to see him get KO, lose his confidence all cause he was so lax with his defence. If Willie Limond can get cloe to knocking him out who didn't have a high KO record then Khan's gotta be on dodgy ground their but I sure hope he ove...

If Khan Doesn't Tighten Up His Defence/Stance, He Will Get K

Amir Khan will get KO one day if he doesn't tighten up on his intitial stance and defence generally. Earl was trying to do what Willie Limond did and had initial success sending Khan backwards when hit on the chest. Its stupid allowing yourself to be wacked on the chest because even though it was no...
